Swine flu fears—This is a picture of me in March when i had the regular flu. It was horrible. I ended up here at the emergency clinic because i could not breathe. My dad had to drive to Blacksburg to pick me up and take me there. Here i am on a nebulizer which is the strangest, coldest contraption ever. I am also drinking a box of orange juice to wash down the steroids they gave me to open up my lungs. It was serious. Sooooo, needless to say, the new Swine Flu scares the shit out of me.

I love it here. And i love Oma and Opa. And i love spending time with them. And i feel like they need me. Im considering moving in with them for the summer and trying to get a job at the Tiki Bar:
“Solomons Island is also home to the infamous Tiki Bar, an open air bar whose annual reopening in mid-April has come to symbolize the unofficial beginning of the season to thousands of visitors who flock from near and far to celebrate the event. “

Plus Oma loves to paint and is far better at it than i am. I could learn a lot from her. It could be a really good summer of memories with my grandparents. I hate to face it, but they will not be around forever. I feel like i need to take advantage of every second i can spend with them. Still trying to sort is all out. I will keep you posted.
Some of you know, my one roommate Sharham is from Iran and is getting his PhD in economics. He is the nicest man. But he cooks the strangest things! (see picture posted ca. Nov for proof). He has many bags of frozen veggies in the freezer that he adds to rice, chicken, pasta…whatever he makes. He just sorta…dumps in in there. Well, somewhere along the lines he decided the equivalent of frozen peas and carrots for potatoes were frozen french fries, and should be treated like all frozen vegetables. Makes sense…sorta…? The result is a very funny looking dish:
